CLUB SONG
Conceived in 2002 by members of the then First Grade, it does have a number of verses but seems to be more favoured by players to continually sing the chorus a number of times with increasing speed and intensity. The lyrics have been amended slightly to reflect our new location.
The song is sung to the tune of John Denver’s – “Country Road”.
Wests Scarborough, Rugby Centre
Maroon and Gold make opposition shiver
Life is bolder, bolder than the Soaks
Tougher than the Seagulls and those other blokes
Take me home, Shearn Road
To the place, I belong
Wests Scarborough, Rugby Union
Take me home, Shearn Road
All our members gather round there
Tuesday’s, Thursday’s not to mention weekends
Colts included, Grades from 1 to 5
Figure on the scoreboards as Wests run in their tries!
Take me home, Shearn Road
To the place, I belong
Wests Scarborough, Rugby Union
Take me home, Shearn Road
